Alexander Lanshe - The Warrior Millennial
Alexander Lanshe grew up in the greater Akron area in northeast Ohio with his parents and 6 younger siblings. He was home-schooled his entire life prior to going to the University of Akron where he received a Bachelor’s of Science degree - double majoring in Exercise Science and Philosophy. Growing up, he held all manner of different jobs including as a golf caddy at age 15 at the beautiful Donald Ross design of Congress Lake Country Club in Hartville, Ohio, busboy at the nation’s largest dinner-theatre, The Carousel, and working at the University of Akron as a success coach.
One of the most life-altering moments of Alex's life was when he was placed in a martial arts karate class at age 5. He has continued training from that day consistently without a gap. By age 10, he earned his black belt. He has competed in regional tournaments, and has trained with elite members and former members of the military and government agencies including the US Army Rangers and US Secret Service. This training and the people he trained with set his heart, mind and soul on the path of the warrior. He has been training and teaching people in these fields for over 20 years.
Alex believes that in order to forge the best warrior possible, 3 distinct elements must be trained: The Heart, The Mind and the Body.
The Body: Alex has trained with and been mentored by some of the greatest warriors in the world from all branches of public and private service. He has trained with members of the US Secret Service, US Special Forces, as well as martial artists of advanced skill and rank. Alex has developed his own unique approach to martial training and personal protection by studying violence and its neutralization from a scientific perspective - engaging in Martial Science.
Alex uses his knowledge of anatomy, biomechanics and physics to study violence in order to promote peace the same way a physician studies disease to promote health.
Using this expertise, Alex instructs private citizens in the tactics of personal protection. He has taught dozens of personal protection seminars ranging in audience scope from women's groups, Church's, University Students, and private civilians.
The Heart: Alex believes that inspiring the warrior's heart and filling it with the proper virtues and intentions is just as important as training the body in physical tactics and fighting ability. To be the best warrior you can be, Alex believes a holistic approach is required.
Alex firmly believes that pursuing virtue is a critical element to reducing the amount of unjust violence, death and suffering in the world. He believes that members of his generation, Millennial's, need to see more virtuous role models to teach them and show them how to be good men and women who embrace the warrior path. He decided to embrace that role and hold himself to the standard of being someone who leads by example.
His podcast, The Anatomy of a Warrior Show, captures powerful true stories of virtue, valor and heroism from professional warriors and private citizens. These stories give fuel to the heart and call it be strive after higher things. Alex envisions creating the greatest library of warrior stories & interviews ever assembled as a legacy to pass on to his children and to the next generation of millennial warriors.
The Mind: Alex believes that a good warrior sharpens their mind through study, research, reading, prayer, listening to others with more experience, and asking questions (especially the big, deep questions). He is a lifelong student, philosopher, and avid reader who brings that experience to bear on his teachings and seminars. His book, Warrior Attitude, is a collection of 21 mental attitudes that he has learned in over 23 years of training. These attitudes have helped him overcome personal challenges and adversity and help keep a warrior's mind sharp.
Today, as the Warrior Millennial, Alex brings about his vision of forging warriors and preventing unjust violence by creating products and services which deliver inspiration, encouragement and personal protection training. His work gives you confidence through the acquisition of skill and virtue.
In addition to being a serial interviewer, he has written two Amazon-published books - Warrior Attitude: 21 Ways to Think and Act Like a Warrior That Will Transform Your Outlook on Life, and Anatomy of a Warrior: The 7 Virtues All Warriors Must Live by to Successfully Protect and Serve.
Anatomy of a Warrior is based on 2.5 years of research in which Alex interviewed 120 professional protectors from all branches of the military, special forces groups, government agencies, executive protection firms, police officers, survivors of real-world violence, and top personal protection trainers from around the nation. From the data collected, he was able to discover the 7 most common virtues that a good warrior should strive to attain in their life so that unjust violence can be neutralized. The foreword was written by legendary, Best-Selling author, Lt. Col. Dave Grossman and the afterword was written by the National Best-Selling author, Gavin de Becker.
Alex is dedicated to helping as many people become the best warriors they can be, especially in helping Millennials and Generation Z take up the torch.
